If i started taking ballet lessons tomorrow how long would it take before i could go on pointe?
It's always been my dream but when i moved i stopped taking ballet .I'm 14 and used to do ballet when i was 3-8. This may not sound like much but i was constantly told by teachers and professional dancers that I was extremely gifted and was put in a class with 12-13 year olds to challenge me. It's been six years since dancing and I would like to start again (this time ballet, jazz, lyrical, and possible hip-hop) and i was wondering if its to late to go pro and be excepted into a school of ballet and become a prima ballerina. And how old would i be when i finally got on pointe?
If i started taking ballet lessons tomorrow how long would it take before i could go on pointe?musicalsIf you are as talented as you say it's definitely not too late. It will take at least 1 yr to start doing pointe and you need professional advice and tuition about it especially regarding choice of shoes as it is extremely important for technique and ease of movement. The 3-8 yr background is definitely a pro. Start by applying at some well-known dance school. You should not discourage yourself. Remember that Martha Graham, one of the best known choreographers in the US started dancing at age 22 and took the world by storm and Petr Zuzka began ballet at age 19 and is now the head of the national theatre ballet company in Prague. Good luck!
