When I jump in my ballet class my shins feel like they are going to split in half, is that a bad thing?eventsWe used to refer to those as "shin splints" in gymnastics. The only thing we knew to do about them was to refrain from jumping/landing hard until they healed.

I get those all the time in track season,
Shin splints.
You have excised your calves too much.
You are gonna have to deal with it.
Stretch your shins more.|||It is probably shin splints, and they can get pretty bad. You need to strengthen the mulcles in your lower legs, (lower calf area). What I used to do when I ran cross-country is what we called “duck walks”. You basically walk on the heel of your feet. Do about 8-10 repetitions of about 15-20 ft. It looks goofy, but helped.
