When you first start taking ballet....???

how many classes a week should you take?

When you first start taking ballet....???sunshine

This depends on whether your goal is to be a ballet dancer or just to use ballet for technique in other styles. When you're just starting I wouldn't recommend taking more than two a week for awhile, just to let your body get used to everything, because you will be sore. If you just want to use it for technique, one to two times a week is perfectly fine. If you are really serious about focusing on ballet, I think the norm is about three classes a week, more if you're rehearsing something or working for a company. I don't know how old you are, but for serious ballet dancers, by the time you get to your mid-teens the number should be anywhere from 3 to 5, depending on if you're taking hour-long or hour-and-a-half classes.

I went once a week for 3 years.|||As a beginner, 1 probably. Ballet can be rough on your toes and feet when you're first starting out.|||I was 7 years ago when I started ballet. I think it was like 3 times a week, each session was about 1 hour. I lasted for nearly 2 years only...it just wasn't my thing.|||Wel that depends on how old you are and if you want to do ballet as a profession... I am 13 I and I do 3 + classes of ballet a week each ballet class is an hour and a half. It also depends on how strong you are, and how much YOU think you can handle.|||It depends how dedicated you are to learn this, how busy you are, how much can you handle before a breakdown, and how good you want to be at in ballet! For me i would say 3 times a week! You can learn have a few days to practice, go back for corrections and learn more!|||At my studio, those who are taking ballet as more of a foundation for jazz take it once a week. If you are serious about ballet in and of itself, you take it two-three times a week (depending on if you are on pointe).

I would say go to the studio which interest you the most, and find out what the norm is there.|||1-2 classes a week|||I would suggest 3-9 years old 1 class. 10 and up try 1 a week if you like it go for 2 immediately!!!|||2 times a week for maximum|||If you're just starting, then I'd only do 1 class a week. You have to work on your turn out and feet, and it could be hard on your body if you do more than 1 class a week.
