My daughter just started ballet/tap classes last Saturday....?

She's three years old and just started last Saturday. Last week she pretty much refused to participate and today she did the tap portion but didn't want to do the ballet part. I'm just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience and what I should do to encourage my daughter without being over bearing.

If she enjoys going, let her join in when she wants to and watch when she doesn't. She'll soon get the idea and join in more. If she is showing any reluctance to go, I would stop the classes for a while. You could try again when she's a little older.

She may not feel comfortable yet. Some kids have to watch for awhile before they join in, and that's way OK at 3. Don't push; that will just make her not want to do it.|||if she doesn't want to do it then don't try to make her. she'll resent you for it later in life. let her be a kid and expierence new things only if she is willing.|||Give her rewards each day if she participates, if she doesn't say "Then you don't get your surprise!" Get cheap candy or fake jewelry or something. Maybe take her out to ice cream if she does a good job.
