I've just discovered another true gem of respectable musicianship, which is the great prog-rock band Dream Theater. I've been wondering if you could suggest me the first 5 Dream Theater songs that I should purchase as a beginning in familiarizing my life with the band?

The most popular one that you may recognize is called "Pull Me Under." It's an amazing song. They're an amazing, band, so good call. 'Images and Words' was my favorite album, mainly because it's what I listened to growing up. If I'm not mistaken, they have quite a few albums. I would get your hands on Images and Words and Change of Season (shorter) CDs instead of just listing single songs. You'll get a good feel for them that way.

Also, Queensryche was big when I was growing up too. I'm sure you've heard Silent Lucidity by them, but check them out too. Similar sound, but another great band that didn't get a whole lot of recognition.
