i told my father i wanted to act in theaters when i got older. he laughed and said that i should use my memorizational skills for something more educational. like public speaking. but public speaking is boring to me. i'm only 16. You need to follow your dreams! This is something you want to make a career out of and you don't want to be miserable doing it! I'm sure your dad is just concerned because that is such a hard business, but you CAN do it. Just make sure you find something else you enjoy just as much to have something to fall back on. Let him know that you know it won't be easy and show him you've thought your future through. (Having something to fall back on) Then maybe he won't be so insensitive to your feelings. Good Luck!
