Is there life after Dream Theater?
Right, seriously. Is there any point in being in a band, or listening to any other bands, seeing as how Dream Theater can do any style of music to a level far better than the bands specialising in that style?
I mean, what's the point? Each member is God of their instrument, and the fore-runner for the instrument's leading personalities. They do melodic, metal, rock, pop, blues, symphony, thrash... why listen to ANYBODY else?

Opeth
In fact, Opeth and DT are touring together in the States later this Spring.
In my opinion, Opeth is DT turned up to 11.
Cheers!
(EDIT)
That's a huge stretch saying S-X are better than DT or Opeth... I wholeheartedly disagree...
I also recommend Isis, Old Man Gloom, Neurosis, Porcupine Tree, etc.

Alot of people that I know who like Dream Theatre think that Symphony X is better. I'm not sure about the genre range though, but I heard with techincal matters, they are the best band around right now.|||Technically there are better players out there. Listen to Spastic Ink......really technical playing, and Bobby Jarzombek is still one of the best drummers I have ever heard.
