Let's compare progressive and 80s metal to comercial/emo music shall we?
Commercial Emo - Fall Out Boy, (His)Panic at the Disco!, and MCR
I think they're all awesome.|||Emo sucks!!! Why do rock stations insist on playing that crap? To me, rock stations should be playing the likes of AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Guns 'n' Roses and Metallica. Not Coldplay, The Fray and Avril Lavigne.|||I was in my teens in the mid eighties, had my garage band, covered Motley, Skid Row, Ratt, Scorps and stuff like that....80's Metal and Prog definitely has had more of an influence on me (and still does) because of that period of time in my life...On the flip side, I just can't relate with all of that commercial/emo stuff. I believe that (hypothetically) if
styles like Fallout Boy, Planet at the Disco, The Fray, Green Day, Blink 182 were out during that particular time, that my views on them may be different. I'm just too set in my ways now...|||Old school metal still rules! Their like the gods! You really could see originality and style that makes your head bang which greatly influences some artists today. If you love music, especially metal, I think the old stuffs are still a good reference to look at. But there are still good metal bands now like Slipknot, Korn, System of a Down, etc... About the emo stuff, well I think it's just the trend now, which is light and all about whining and just guys with weird pitchy sissy voices. Though some are kinda well-to-do.|||green day isnt emo.. they are punk... some consider them pop punk...
oh n its panic! at the disco not planet. blink n fallout arent emo either.... you must hate everything huh?
i like to listen to everything when it comes to rock. punk (green day/the ramones/the clash/etc...), heavy metal, (kiss/acdc/ozzy/etc...) even marilyn manson... i listen to queen.. nickleback, slipknot, korn, n more!
see i have an open variety... so...
whats the point of this...
