,when it comes to missing or abducted children, given the maddie case all the reports say this is extreamly rare and we should feel safe as it does not happen as often as people expect, it has also been said that our children are more likely to die from car accidents, home accidents etc etc, but ive just checked a web site and between the usa and england, over 12,500 CHILDREN have gone missing since maddie was reported missing, now sorry if as a parent if that sends me into a panic but it does, i know some will argue some countries are safer to live in than others, but whats to stop it becoming worldwide, i just find it hard to believe that i was living in my own little safe world ,,thinking these things only happen to other people, is it just me or are other parents aware how serious this is.

Children go missing all the time but are never reported on or get the same media attention as the McCanns did, how can that be rare. It's happening all the time, we just don't hear about it. No caring parent would neglect their children in the first place which is why I can not understand why they did it. I hope it doesn't start a new craze now that we are in the holiday season. This has been serious before the McCanns. The McCanns made it a whole lot worse
