I'm trying to find a website or walking magazine that might offer a list of walking events in different areas around the country. I've tried doing a google search for walking and my city, but no luck. I'd be interested in anything in my state or a surrounding state that I could drive to within a few hours. I mainly am looking for walking events that are timed and are marathon walks, but I would also consider charity walks. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

try coolrunning.com. you can search for road races in your area. it will say if the road race has a walking option.

try your local community center or just call the town and ask, buy the local newspaper and check the bulletin boards in your library|||http://www.runnersworld.com/channel/0,71...

they have the majority. when you do a search, don't restrict it to walking simple type races or events. if walking is available, they usually include it in the description of the race.
