How do I alter my perception of previously experienced events?
My wife and I have a great relationship. In the past, however, she would drink quite a bit and become beligerent towards me. Although she only tips the bottle a little these days (what would be considered normal), I still get edgy when I believe I'm seeing her old ways coming out. I don't know if it's actually happening or if I'm just shying away for fear of getting hurt.

You have to give before you get, so next time y'all are out and she starts drinking make a conscious decision in youru head that you are ok with what is happening. You will be leary but if she really is changing or has changed then these experiences will leave more current impression and you will remember them not the old ones so much. If she really is trying give her the room to grow.
