A couple and friends and I are coming to San antonio for a weekend in Late november. Where is the best place to get a hotel? close to shopping and night life? ...I'm thinking of moving there in teh summer so this is a research trip as well

I live in the far west side of San Antonio (less than a mile from Sea World) I favor this part of town for a number of reasons, but US_DR_JD has told you pretty well how it really is. This part of the city is rapidly becoming a jewel in the city's crown, We have a new General Hospital that will be coming on line shortly, we have two colleges, Microsoft service center, CITI, Washington Mutual, Sea World, many many Stores like Wal-mart, Kohl's, and HEB PLUS. It is like watching a city being born open fields today and a store tomorrow or an open field today and 2000 houses tomorrow. This area (according to TxDOT) now exceeds 50,000 in population and we are still building. All and all things are going very smoothly, including the additional schools for more and more children. I am a long time resident of San Antonio and hope that you fall in love with San Antonio as well, have fun while you are here
