What should i study if i like to plan events?

Someone please help me because i really dont know what i should major in all i know is i want a career planning events like parties and fundraisers and stuff like that

Well, my college roomies degree was in tourism management/hospitaliy management, also wedding planning is possible...but keep in mind its hard work, long hours and sometimes takes time to build a successful biz that pays higher.

I opened a small restaurant w/husband successfully 4.5 yrs ago and absolutely love it (most of the time lol!)-i do have long hours and work very hard but i was stir crazy in my professional job stuck in an office. Catering/culinary training is possible too if that interests you...but again, hard work, long hours!

Keep in mind most people don't do what they go to college for when they leave college-like myself, but that doesn't mean school doesn't teach you responsiblity and commitment, and give you a back up plan until you can realize your dream! Its important to do your research and make educated, calculated decisions!

If you want to open your own party/fundraising biz someday, I strongly recommend if you are going to school then consider getting a biz degree (make sure you are willing to commit yourself to studies), it will help you with the fundamentals, and will be a marketable degree to have while you are saving for start up funds!

You could also see if your guidance counselor or a counselor at a local state college could give you assistance, they do it all day long and maybe there's new careers in event planning since i've gotten out of school...
