Why are people emminently reasonable about events except when they are personally involved?
It appears to me that the West can find excuses to smooth over any event that affects people in so called 1st world countries, The East or Arabia, but it is the worst thing in the world when events like 9/11, Bali, London 7/7 happen to us.

But you wonder how long it will be before the USA loses it's #1 spot. England used to rule the world, so did France, Rome/Italy had a run, and China and Japan had dynasties.
Every country has a phase in history where it thrives, then fails. Who knows when it's the USA's turn to fall? Somebody down the line will find out. Probably not us though. Which is fine with me. I dig being in the USA.
Whoever becomes the big dog after the USA will then set the barometer for "what's important" on global events and be the puppet master. I shouldn't even assume the USA is pulling the strings though. Whoever has the gold makes the rules, and I don't know who REALLY has control of the gold.
