Why have they started selling fancy food at sports events and what do you think about it?
You used to go to a ballgame and fill up on hotdogs, nachos, cotton candy, pretzels and beer. This used to really be all that was really avaliable. It was traditional and part of the experience. Now you go to a game and their is lobster tale and fish tacos and pierogues and caesar salad and all this other fancy, overpriced fare. Their was a simple timelessness about eating these things at the ballpark and now it has seemingly evaporated. Where has the tradition gone? Why have all the stadiums and arenas started selling this upscale fare? Isnt this a bit like selling away the soul of the game? People who want this fare dont appreciate the tradition of sport right???

It's not like venues just decided to start selling different food to be trendy. There is a lot of market research behind it.
They are offering healthy alternatives which can appeal to a wider fan base, in part... women. Not all women feel like scarfing down nacho cheese made from carnuba wax, or greasy hot dogs.
I worry far more about the product on the field/court than I do what I'll eat.
