Current events news article? It must have bias and point of view.?
I need help finding a current events news article for my history class. I don't have a newspaper or anything of the sort in my house right now. The article can be from online, a newspaper, new york times, etc etc. Once I have the article, I must show Point of View, bias, and a summary of the article. All I need is the article...I can do the rest. Just please make sure it has some sort of POV and bias that I will identify. Thanks for the help.

This assigment depends on what type of article you need to find containing a point of view bias. If you can review a column by a well-known columnist, the point of view bias is easy to find, and not hidden.
If you have to discover and show bias in a news article which is not supposed to have any bias, it will be a little more difficult. However, almost all newspapers are liberal and allow the liberal bias to come out. The examples are numerous..they refer to conservative politicians as conservative, but don't refer to Ted Kennedy or Hillary Clinton as liberal. They gush over republicans who criticize other republicans (such as McCain) but never mention democrats criticizing other democrats. http://www.timeswatch.org/ gives numerous recent examples of actual articles.

Almost anything from Fox News will have bias...a recent example would be their coverage of the recent story about Barack Obama being educated in a madrassa. It's very clearly biased, and contains lots of factual errors.|||Any news article from CNN.com will certainly have bias, not sure about a point of view.
