Do dreams really represent future events?
Some people believe dreams represent what may possibly be events of the future. Well, this girl who I'm kind of close to, just told me she had a dream she woke up and saw blood everywhere and saw me laying there dead. That just creeps me out.

No, dream are made up from our memories. It doesn't really tell you the future, since most event you know the location and the persons, and also time is non sense. Which is all due to the brain activities when you sleep, you learn more about in Psychology.|||you would think so sometimes, but nah. i have ridiculous off the wall dreams. but some things i have dreamt about happened... i think its just coincidental is something like that does happen... unless you are for sure a psychic. ive had dreams my bf and probably every i love have died, but they havent. dreams depend on a lot of things. i would be safe if i were you though... :) jk|||you need a reality pill|||Im no expert, about 5 of my dreams have happened, very close to what id dreamt. Mostly dreams mean different things to different people, say a wave in my dream to me means tranquility, whereas others may see it as tsunami etc. There are heaps of dream interpretation books, the ones ive seen say to take different factors to take into account, like is the dream set in the night or day, the feeling behind it...were you scared happy anxious etc, to write down what each object symbolizes to you, or your friend in your case|||Dreams are a continuation of the dreamer's waking thoughts. While asleep her subconscious is patching together images that evoke the same emotions she feels while awake.
Dreaming about a friend dying could mean that in her waking life she is experiencing a situation where she feels loss or abandonment. She could be feeling that she is losing you or you are abandoning her. Or it could not necessarily be you, it could be someone else close to her that she feels she is losing.
Another meaning of death is disappointment. Coupled with blood which also means disappointment, the dream could mean that your friend is disappointed with something she feels you did or something someone close to her (represented by you) did to her.
Dreams are not prophetic except those in the bible. They are just a representation of how the dreamer feels while they are awake.
