you don't have to re up your contract If you are not completely happy with the real estate comp. service .
if you want other companies to also try to sell your home do an "open listing contract" then YOU can sell your home and pay no commision OR ANY real estate comp. can sell your home and the only one who get commision is the one who sells it.
good luck.

All listing agreements must have a termination date. The clause that allows for an extension might contain an automatic renewal statement if not then you will need to amend (change) the listing agreement with an extension of time agreement amendment. You do not have to extend the agreement. However you will need to check on my opinion in your state's laws or ask an attorney in your state that is proficient in contract law|||In Texas, there is a one page document "Amendment to Listing Agreement" that allows you to extend your listing without filling out an entirely new contract.
I don't know about other states, but it would seem to me to be a simple contract issue only requiring an amendment. you will have to check for your state.
