Extension - Do I need planning permission?
We would like to extend our kitchen and bathroom on our bungalow, the extension would be one storey and would not be viewable from any road as our garden backs onto fields with 60ft trees between.
This would increase the house size by about 15%.
Also we would like dormer windows upstairs facing the back garden once again, would that require planning permission?
Any idea of costs for the extension including a nice new kitchen and bathroom?
UK answers only please.
Thank you!
Extension - Do I need planning permission?opera.comI've just had an extension built, though double storey, I would advise you to speak to your architect.
I had to have planning permission, but my architect sorted all that out for me.
If you are extending your property by 15% then you will need to get it, but make sure you put the dormer windows on the same application (saves paying twice)
when i was quoted for mine, the price of a single storey was £17000. don't know what size comparison mine would be against yours, but you have to take into account that the foundations will need digging out!!!!
kitchens and bathrooms vary so much in price, and it depends on how much you want to do yourself. my dad and i installed my bathroom, so it was simply the cost of the suite (£600), but i didn't know where to start with my kitchen, and with that being a job that i would be less likely to want to do again, i had a firm do it for me (£8000 completed with tiling)
