Extension of warranty valid if granted by store employee?
I purchased a $3299 Sterns & Foster mattress from Sleep Train 10/8.Sleep Train allows you to get a full refund if you are not satisfied within 90 days. The 90 days is up tomorrow. I am not happy with the mattress as it sags in the middle, attempted a return on 1/2, but the store manager was not in, would not be in until Saturday, and the employee said he did not have the codes to process a refund. To verify that I was in the store he wrote the date and signed his initials to the receipt. After I got home I felt uneasy that just his initials and date was not sufficient, so I stopped at another Sleep Train store the next night and a store employee there made a call to the store I bought it from and told me that I was granted a 30 day extension. I asked him who he spoke to, and he told me the employee on duty at the store (not the store manager). I had him write the details on the receipt. He wrote, "We will extend his 90 days to 120 days". Do you believe the extension is legally valid?
Extension of warranty valid if granted by store employee?listen to operaWow, not unless the store values it's reputation and customers. Usually the warranty slips say any offer not in writing from the manufacturer is not valid, including offers from employees. That was an expensive mattress, Have you tried a Swedish foam? There great and a king size is less than a grand at stores, and they have a 10 year warranty.
