File extension help please? :)?
A while back I download a documentary from the net and put it on a normal disc not a dvd disc, The docu was over an hour long and I somehow managed to disc it to a sony cd-r 700mb disc, not as data either. I can also play it on my dvd player fine, just like a normal dvd.
I have video clips that I would like to disc the same but what extension do I need to use in order for me to burn the video clips to a normal disc which will play in my dvd player? Thanks in advance. :)

You can't just put a different extension on a file - video or otherwise. The extension specifies what format the file was created in and dictates what video player can/must be used to interpret that format. For instance changing a .bmp to a .jpg will not work at all. The program that recognizes the data for a .jpg will not be able to work with the format of a .bmp. The same program probably would be able to deal with the .bmp but not when it thinks it is a .jpg format.|||modern DVD players seem to handle mpg files quite well
alternatively, try
http://www.winavi.com/
for a great converter i use mpeg1 with a picture size of 720 by 576 for maximum compatibility
alternatively, there are a few DVD players out there that now support divx format [that's the codec not the extender- divx files have the avi extender but there are many types of avi so be careful
Good luck with your videos
