Let me tell you it is extremely hard to get into current events when you're fourteen years old and haven't been paying any attention to your surroundings for the past ...fourteen years.

I know Bush is our retarded (?) president. And Cheney is the VP who shot someone once, but that is pretty much the extent. Which is extremely pathetic I know but it comes from only reading the cartoons in Newsweek and Time every once in a while. (Probably more than most of my peers, sadly to say.)

Anyone have any websites/blogs to recommend so I can just get the basics on the Iraq War, Darfur, Global Warming, Election 2008, etc so I don't seem really ignorant during discussions. It just feels like everything I read is so biased that the only facts included are the ones supporting the author's claim. And I'd really like to believe the president of our country is not as retarded as he seems...
