Finding file extension?
I have a file from a MAC disc that I can open but it has lost the file extension so no idea what to open it in.
I've tried Word which opens a very long corrupted version of it with the text I need, but do really need to now which program to open it properly.
I've also tried Powerpoint, PDF, Wordpad but no luck. Is there any software that can determine what type of file it is?
Thanks in advance

To find file extensions on internet Explorer. Go My Documents-click tools-click view or advanced view-deselect
the "Hide Extensions for Known File Types"-check box.-click the Apply to All Folders button at the top of the dialog.box-click yes-click ok. I thought this answer would help some given that I have XP.
