Hello - I hired a programmer to create a mozilla extension for me. How do I get permission to modify

He made a mistake on the install.rdf file. I was able to change it - but now when i try to upload the extension to the mozilla page, the program tells me I don't have the permission to modify the file. Does anyone know why?

It would seem that you have damaged the rdf file when you modified it, I would recommend going back to the programmer adn getting him to rebuild it for you.

Failing that, without knowing anything of the plugin I would use a Hex editor to modify the file as they tend to be safer than text editors-ish.
