How can i watch different videos with different filenames extension in the computer??

for example, .avi how can i watch videos with that file name?? or is there a program that can let me watch types of videos with all types of filename extension??

Basically, most players will play different types of formats and often just warrants the installation of codecs.

For example; In Windows Media Player, if you go to Tools, Options, then FileType.... You will see a list of the types of files the player plays.

Also, you can assign a player to a particular type of format by browsing to the file, right clicking, and selecting Open With... then select Choose Program. You can then assign a player to it, and if you put a tick in the box at the bottom "Always use this....." then when you click on that type of file it will always use the player you chose.

VLC Media Player is a great player for playing almost any format, and it's FREE. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
