How can you stop a series of unfortunate events?

For the past couple of months I have been going through what seems like hell (literally) I wont get into detail because then this would turn into a book. I'm am a good person (so I think) so why is so much despair coming in my life? at one point I was convinced someone had hoaxed me (yeah, it's that bad) So if there is anyone out there who has overcome a series of unfortunate events, please let me know how you did it.

When I was 10 years old my father was shot by a business related druglord in Cuba. Since we're american citizens, when I got back to the states I was entered into the witness protection program. 15 years later, in a driveby shooting I was shot in the arm. After going to the hospital the doctors told me I would have to get my forearm amputated. Its not that hard to get by because of the guidance of the Lord and the strength and support of my friends and community. However 2 weeks after the amputation, I was let go from my job because of my disability ( I am a construction worker). I thought this was incredibly unfair, and I thought it couldn't get worse, but it did. While I had been getting the amputation, apparently a patient on the same floor at the hospital had flesh-eating fungus disease. I had caught it from him, and my nasal passages were infected. Basically, this meant that my facial tissue was slowly disintegrating. Now I am hideously deformed. In the course of one month I had gone from a hearty construction worker to a tragic deformity. I am saddened to think that I will never be able to lead a normal respectable life. However, the Lord is with me, and slowly I can overcome the obstacles in my life. I hope this helps.
