When reading this form it totally confused me!

It says its not an extension of payment just an extension to file. But I want an extension of payment. Is this not the correct form I need? How do i do it?
How do I file for an extension for my state taxes? (michigan)?state theatreThere is no extension of payment for either the state or the IRS.
You are expected to pay an estimated payment of what you expect to owe by April 15th. The extension is only to file the tax return... There is no separate state extention - the IRS extension is accepted automatically by the state of Michigan.
If you don't pay by April 15th - expect to pay penalties and interest that vary depending on how much you owe and how long it takes you to pay it...
