How do i chang file extension?

Sometimes when you have the hide extension enabled you cant change extensions unless you go to the top of any folder and click Tools > Folder Options > View(its a tab) > unclick the box that says 'Hide Extensions for Known File type'.

Then you can see the extensions for all files, ex. MS Word files will always end in .doc

You can download a program called Extension Changer so you can just right click the file and change its extension.

Select Properties

For Type of File: click on CHANGE

Select the program you want to use to open the file. The file extension will change automatically.

Note: changing the file extension won't actually change the type of file it is - just the program that opens it. For example, you can't change a jpg into an doc just by changing the extension.
