So many of my high school students were apathetic about the events at VT. I found this disturbing and wonder what we can do to encourage our youth to realize the world is not just about them individually...
How do we encourage students to care about events like today?performing showsi happen to be a high schooler and in my world issues class we would always talk about what was happening in the world, posative and negative, and it always shocked me how few people in my class knew what was happening. It seemed when my teacher put things in perspective, that it could be us or that this is something that was going to effect our future like it or not, it seemed to wake people up.

It seems they are better than you because they do not fixate on an event that is of no significance in the overall schism of things. It happened, it's sad, nothing can be done about it , move on.|||You would have to lock away idiots like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. Most of the lemmings know who they are, yet they don't know who the Vice-President or Secretary of Defense is. They only know President Bush because idiots like Madonna told them they should hate him.
