How do you apply for a fiancee Visa extension?

I am an American citizen I received a fiance' visa back in October, it expires April 10th. I was never able to use it to join my man in Great Britain. We have had family emergencies etc to keep us apart. Nothing has changed on our original application form. Is there any way to apply for an extension, and how do I go about doing it? Thanks so much!

You don't need a Visa to go over there to marry him, so that might be the best and certainly it's the easiest. Your VISA is the stamp you receive at Passport control when you enter England and it's typically good for 45 days|||I don't think you can apply for an extension as such. I think you will have to make a new application. But you've still got ten days - there might just be time to get here and get married - but you need to check this out, as I think you have to give notice of intention to marry, you can't just turn up at the Reg.

Otherwise, it's all more money for the Home Office, I'm afraid!

I would suggest that your fiance get some advice here from a solicitor or citizens advice bureau.

The link below says that the visa is NORMALLY for six months, so there may be some flexibility. You could try contacting the Home Office (but don't expect to get much sense from them, and don't rely on any information that isn't in writing!)
