I bet this file is called winmail.dat. It's actually a wrapper that MS Outlook uses when sending certain attachments.
To open it you need to save the file and then use a TNEF extractor program to get the original files out.
There is a good free program called fentun available at http://www.fentun.com/
It will let you get the invoice out of your email.
