Jeez, what a vague question. I would talk about the formation of the UN, or OPEC or the WHO or other global organizations as examples. I mean, foreign oil (which is where OPEC involves itself) is a huge global concern, which is why there is a global union to enforce and protect the common (in this case international) interest.
