I am not improving in any of my swimming events. Is there something wrong?
I am a 15 year old year-round club, and high school swimmer. I started my freshman year of highschool this last year. At my very first highschool meet, I qualified for state in 2 events, then after that I was never able to swim those times again. The same goes for my club team. I swim a meet about every 2 or three weeks, but I am not able to drop time. I practice extremely hard a practice, but it just isn't paying off. It also is bothering me because the kids who hardly come to practice, don't do as a hard of a workout as me, and goof off during practice seem to keep sheding time off. There is an 13 year old on my team who today went an 18 second faster 500 then me. I'm 15. shouldn't I be faster then her? and she never comes to practice, and when she does she has to do 100s on the 1:20, while I am going at them on the 1:12. How does this work? Also is there any way to stop nerves from coming at a meet--maybe this will help me preform my best...

That said, dealing with your issues, it may very well be that you are working out too hard. Too much fatigue will make it difficult to improve your times in meets (and too much pressure may do the same).
