.dat files are data files that can basically be anything. If you want to open a data file, you're going to have to know what program created it in the first place.

Or, if you're looking for a quick fix and want to convert it into a file that WMP or RP recognizes, I suggest that you buy something like Advanced X Video Converted. There's really no other way to figure out how to fix your problem.

i'm not sure DAT is a movie. Dat is data|||.dat files can't be movie files. It could be the setting and list and some sort of properties of the movie files. Try opening those dat files in a text editor and see what's in there.

Are those .dat files only files you see ? Go to my computer and right click on your CD drive to browse (Explore) the contents.|||.dat files are data files. not video files.
