use the softkey "pause" on the menu.....and hit it 4 times....!...that should be enough...then put in the 4 digit extension!!!

I'm assuming you always want to dial the same number plus extension, if I'm wrong, this advice is not helpful.

With computer modems, you can input "pause" characters into the dialing string. This is done (for computer modems) with the comma. maybe something like this is available for the iPhone?
