If someone says that I was doing something at my work place with no proof of the events that took place would that person have to provide proof that I did such act and if so would I be able to collect any garnished wages, defamation or stress related funds from the said character
If someone says that I was doing something at my work place with no proof of the events that took place?comedy showI would take it to the courts and let them figure it out. I would want to hope that our justice system would want hard core proof. However, it depends what state you live in. It sounds like you lost your job. Where I live an employer can fire you for no reason.

I notice that you did not say you didnt do whatever it is but that the other person has no proof. It really comes down to who the boss believes to be telling the truth-you or him.
Because they can link anything to company security- an employee reporting improper behavior to a superior I believe you would have a hard time sueing this person and winning. Any jury is going to beleive that he did purposefully but the laws are written in such a way to protect the co-worker who told on you (if an employee has to worry about getting sued over "workplace issues" they will never tell upper management about these kinds of issues-some of which are legitimate).|||You said they don't have any proof. But did you do what they are accusing you of? It sounds to me like its your word agents theirs. I doubt you have any claims. You would have to prove slander and defamation of character.
