If we filed an extension for 2005 tax year, and never filed will we able to file an extension for 2006 tax yearopera songsit will most likely be denied since you never filed your 2005 Return. This is an exclusion item for an "application for automatic extension". The net effect to you if declined - depends on whether 2006 results in a refund or not (because otherwise you are open to late-filing penalties and interest).

Each year STANDS ALONE.
But, please, for your own sake, file the 2005 return before it's too late. If you didn't file and you have a refund, you're losing your own money. If you owe, the IRS will eventually file a substitute return for you and send you the bill. IF you don't pay that, they'll just take it out of your account or paycheck one day. Then you will be miserable.
