If you connect thousands of miles of extension cords and then plug, say, a blender into one end, wha
Would it take a few minutes for the electricity to reach the blender, so it wouldn't turn on right away? Or, would there be too much electricity, and the blender would explode? Or would it never reach it? If you plug a TV into it, with only an antenna, would it get the channels from where the TV is plugged in, or where the TV actually is?
What do you think?
If you connect thousands of miles of extension cords and then plug, say, a blender into one end, what happens?amc theaterNothing much would happen. The distance the electricity would have to travel would prevent the the current reaching the appliance to operate it. The wire in the extension cords would have too much resistance and the electricity would not flow correctly. If you look at the electrical supply lines around your neighborhood, you will see that there are little "barrels" with the wires going into and out of. These are 'transformers' which amplify the electrical current to keep it at a high enough level to operate electrical devices.
The TV would not come on, but if it did, it would pick up the stations in the area that the antenna was in.
