Im looking to get dreadlocks but do I have to start short or can I add extension if so will it look
Trust me. I am going through the same thing and I am going to tell you that you can have dread extensions added to your hair. Just look at Lisa Bonnet for example. When she was on the Cosby Show, she wore dread extensions. The director on my job, I asked her how long did she have dreads and she totally shocked me when she said that her hair wasn't really dreads and they were extensions! My director told me the reason why she had extensions was because if one day she decided she did not want her dread style,she could easily change her hairstyle without cutting her hair(that is what women usually do when they go from natural dreads to the processed look) I went to a shop where I have seen women, who already have beautiful locks, get extensions for length and thickness. I also seen women with processed hair and straight hair, get dread extensions, just to have a dread lock hairstyle, so if they want to go back to the processed look or straight hair, they can easily do it. If you find yourself a good stylist( I recommend a stylist that specializes in natural hair styles), you will be amazed on how versatile and natural your hair will appear. Good luck.
