In the Pit and the Pendulum by Edgar Allan Poe, what are the main events?
The main character is in a drunk state, so it's hard to understand what he's doing. I can distinguish the fact that at one point he barely falls into a pit, and at another he's being released (at the beginning of the short story). Any pointers on the main events (preferably in order) would be appreciated! Best answer includes at least 3 main events and any other explanations.

Do your own homework|||Not really sure why you're confused--since nothing much happens in the story. He's stuck in the pit for just about all of it till he's rescued. There really are no events to speak of.
