My sons have recorded their band's music and I want to add it to MySpace, but it keeps saying I have to have a mp3 format. can I change it or something?

It worked for me and its easy to use, and plus its free....just add what you want to convert, select whether you want MP3 or WMA and select where you want to save the converted files at....|||Simply changing the extension of the filename will not work.
An .mp3 [or mpeg3] file is different from a .wma [windows media audio] file in what information is stored. The .wma format usually sounds better since it uses more information than the .mp3 format does. This is also why .wma files are normally bigger than .mp3 files are for the same song.
If you open up Windows Media Player and look under the "Rip" functions, I think there is a format function that will change from .wma to .mp3. Just remember that doing this may result in some loss of sonic quality when the file is subsequently played.
