I am two weeks late, could I be pregnant even though I have taken 2 home tests and they show negativ

I have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome and taking glucophage for about 3 months to help with with insullin resitance. I have never been this sick before. It comes all times of the day and lasts a long time. Normally before my cycle my breasts with become VERY sore and my ankles will swell. I have had none of this yet. I went to the doctor and she says that I could still be pregnant, to wait 2 weeks and re-test. The last time i was pregnant I was 1 week and 4 days pregnant and the home test showed negative. I later took a blood test and it showed 14 days pregnant. I have left a message with my doctor to see if she will order a blood test. Should I be getting so excited? I am not sure how far along you can be before home tests and the urine tests at the doctors office shows up as positive? I know that some will show up right away but can it take a few more weeks than when you were supose to start your cycle?

All I know is that Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome can make your cycle very unpredictable. However, I would trust your doctor and follow her directions.
