I need to know if there is some where to go for help on getting my 3 little boys Christmas this year

(Feel free to answer with suggestions, eh?)
But, I imagine you're nowhere near Ottawa.
Am pleased to see somebody already mentioned FreeCycle. That was the first thing that occurred to me.
Go, read through stuff that's already been offered, taken, etc, to get a feel for it. The usual answer to my "offers" runs something like this:
"Dear kmennie,
I saw your offer for a purple piano. If it's still available, I'd love it! My little girl is asking for lessons, and I can't afford to buy her one to practice on at home. Nice of you to offer it!
If you've still got it, I am not too far from you, and would be able to make arrangements to pick it up at your convenience.
Best,
Their Name"
Loads of newbies just mail with "yeah, gimme." A better FAQ is clearly needed... I suggest subscribing in your e-mail rather than reading it on the web site at your leisure; good stuff goes awfully quickly.
If you post a "wanted," don't just say "toys, okay?" Mention that your local charities have turned you down because they're out of funds. My, that's depressing, and I'm sorry to hear it.
If you know any social workers, they've got good odds of having up-to-date information on all the local charities -- ditto churches.
That's the best I can do for an answer; let's see how the prayer works.|||Why didnt you plan ahead?
