I was 6 days late and then the period came?

I'm ttc and was late for my period thinking I might be pregnant but bam! it came today! I get really really bad cramps on the first day, so much so that I lay there and cry for 5 hours, its usually accompanied by shakiness (nausea), vomitting, its just too severe - is it normal? I have always had my period like that, however, people tell me that too much pain is also extreme since light cramping is normal. Does anyone else experience this? Today I almost felt like i had to go to the ER as I couldn't bear the pain - I swear I lost 1lb just laying there and crying.

Do you think i should discuss this with my ob/gyn? My mother first days were equally painful.

You prolly should. it sounds a bit extreme! i get bad cramps but nothing like that!

It's not worth being in that much pain!|||I would definitely talk to your OB GYN. I had the same problem it felt like someone was ripping out my insides. I went to doc and found out I have cysts on my ovaries.
