Is 25 too late to think of a commercial pilot career if you dont yet have even a PPL ? Please advice
Hi, I am 25 year Male and pursuing a higher degree in Engineering. I would be 26 coming January. I wanted to know if it is too late to think about a career as a commercial pilot (Wanted to be one but was discouraged for long). I plan to take part time classes as I earn from a full time job to get a multi engine rating. And by the way I am a little myopic so have spectacles which I can get rid of by surgeries etc. Is that advisable ? How practical do you think is my outlook ? As a freshly licenced cadet for commercial flying would any airline company hire me.

In the USA the FAA requires you to be at least 23 and have at least 1500 hours flying to fly a commerical airline. A concern you should have is getting sufficent hours flying before you get much older.
My understanding is that you need more than 2000 hours to get hired.

The airlines are falling over themselves looking for pilots. Age isnt that big of deal. If you have the proper training you will have no problem.
