Is 9 months ahead too late to book a wedding?say yesIs it too late to become a member? That way you can book a year in advance...October 2008 is still 10 months away.
October is actually a really popular month for weddings, so there's a chance that the Saturdays will be booked. Does the church allow more than one ceremony per day? Maybe they can do a 2 pm ceremony and then another one at 5:00.
I work in this business, and I've seen couples plan a wedding in less than 2 months, but you have to prioritize--if the church is the most important thing, then you're going to have to be less "picky" about everything else (reception site, DJ or band, etc.)...the good ones book early.
If all the Saturdays are booked, think about the Sunday of Columbus Day weekend. Not as many of your guests will have the day off as Labor Day and Memorial Day, but it tends to be the first October date to book after all the Saturdays are gone where I work. Plus, since it's a Sunday, you may be able to get discounts from a lot of your vendors. Our venue discounts 5% for Sunday weddings.
