Is it to late to take someone to court after 3 years?
I was in an auto accident 3 years ago. I was driving on a long street where there is hardly any traffic and this guy was coming off the freeway without stopping when there was a stop sign for him, and I crashed into him. My car was totaled and nothing happened to his. The police report said he was at fault. I had to pay out of my own pocket money for a rental while I had to go shopping for another car, and my car was already paid for! I never got reimbursed or anything. The guys insurance never went to the garage where it was stored to take photos, and the insurance agent I had was no help, so I just let it go because I had to make all the necessary phone calls from work because it's too late when I get home. I want to to know if the time limit is up to take that guy to court and get something out of it since I had to pay for a rental and a new car

You have to check with the statute of limitations for California. Consult your attorney.|||If you were in that situation & you were him & he you, what would you do? Careful!
Do to others as you would they do to you, right?|||I think the statute of limitation on something like that it 2 years.|||3 years is the statute on property damage in california. did you not have collision coverage or rental coverage under your own policy? thats why your insurance did not pay you anything.
you were supposed to go through his insurance to get your car paidfor and they would have paid for your rental as well. its your own fault you didnt take time out to call them, why didnt you just call them at lunch or something? how about taking some responsibility for yourself? you should have called your parents and had them do it for you
