Is it too late to get prenatal care at 27 weeks?mr messed upIf you eat a proper balanced diet many doctors say that prenatal vitamins aren't necessary so you're okay on that front. Prenatal care is good for keeping track of the progress of your pregnancy so that if there's something wrong it can be caught right away but it's not absolutely necessary.
Go see the doctor your mom called, get a good checkup, have an ultrasound (you'll love getting to see a picture of your baby!) and make sure that everything is okay. Nothing will be wrong with your baby because you haven't seen a doctor yet, but it is a good time to start. Then you'll have a chance to get all your questions answered and get ready for giving birth.
It sounds like your mom is going to be a big help to you, you should have told her sooner. Even if you're young, moms are usually the very best support when their daughter is pregnant. Let her help take care of you, have her there when you deliver and apologize to her for not letting her know about it sooner. Even if she's upset now she's going to get really excited about being a grandma!
