Is it too late to housebreak my 16 month old yorkie-poodle mix?
My husband & I have a 16 month yorkie-poo. We have had him for 13 months and he still is not housebroken. We tried crate training him when we first got him, but then got lazy with it, so we blame ourselves. But is it too late to try something else?? Sometimes he holds it for hours, but just this morning, I took him out twice between 5:15 a.m. and 7:00 a.m., he peed both times, then 15 minutes later he wet on the kitchen floor. I'm at the end of my rope. Would training help? He's never had formal training. He's well-socialized. We keep him in one room during the workday with a puppy pad, and he typically uses that. It is when we are home that he becomes the problem.

Obedience training might not directly influence the potty training, but it will certainly help YOU to learn more about dog behaviour, and to develop a strong relationship and bond with your dog.
If he isn't neutered, I also recommend that you do that.... for several good reasons :D
