Is it too late to train my dog?
I got a 3 (maybe 4) year old jack russel, and my family is thinking of giving her to a different owner or somethin cuz she causes a lot of problems. Like:
If we give her a toy, she'll most likely rip it to pieces.
She barks a lot.
When she's bored she destroys things.....like she rips open her bed and toys (and takes out the cotton in them). The corners of the bottom of those drawer things at the kitchen and are all chewed up cuz of her (and that really made my mom pissed, and cuz we're moving to a new house she's worried the dog's gonna destroy stuff at the new house).
She (sometimes) pees on the floor (she's trained to poop/pee outside btw).
I did some research and found out that she does that stuff sometimes because she has to much energy, so I have to walk her a lot. And I do try to walk her, but every time i do, she pulls on the leash, barks at everything....
So I was thinking of takin her to an obedience class, is it too late since she's already like 3 years old?
Is it too late to train my dog?mr messed upit is never too late to train a dog. the jack russel terrier is a terribly energetic dog. she could run a marathon and still have enough energy to play fetch. with those kinds of dogs, it's practically impossible to not have her tug on the leash at the beginning of the walk. i recommend throwing on your jogging shoes and try running with her for 10-15 minutes before slowing down to a walk. and obedience classes are always beneficial.
